I know, I know, this is a glam board, but non-glam stuff still ends up here from time to time, and this is one of those times. Whilst browsing for some new Elvenking stuff, I came across a band called Tuatha de Danann that was supposed to sound similar...They've got 3 albums (that I know of) Picked up 2 on a whim, since it was only $8.99... ever have one of those "Oh. My. God. I love this band" Moments? Well, that's what happened. Words cannot really describe this band....think folk, neoclassical, black metal, glam, and celtic all in one. Vocals are predominantly a nice, unique clean with a little bit of "Cookie Monster" from the guitarist, but the weird thing is that it actually adds to the music, rather than detract. Very, very catchy. It's got all the traditional "rock" instruments, as well as mandolin, flute, and some sort of tribal drums. How the hell a band from Brazil came to be so into Celtic/Irish sounds is beyond me, but they do it well. OMG....Definitely worth a listen. I've loved both albums, but I'd say their best is "Tingaralatingadun" (say that 3 times fast LOL)There's probably mp3's online somewhere....This band hasn't left my CD player since I got 'em.
